Mr Ivan, one of the beneficiaries of the „Centrul Speranței Chișinău” Day Care Centre, developed by Hospices of Hope Moldova, often reminds us:
“The way we think is what truly matters. It is important to think clearly and optimistically.”
When he was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and learned that he would have to live with a stoma, Mr Ivan felt overwhelmed by despair. Such news can feel like a life sentence, and optimism often fades in the face of uncertainty.
We still remember how difficult it was for him to cross the threshold of the „Centrul Speranței Chișinău” Day Care Centre for the first time — and how joyful it is now to see him smiling again.
With the support of our medical team, the psychologist, and other beneficiaries who shared their experiences of living with a stoma, Mr Ivan found the courage to move forward.
Today, he is once again optimistic and ready to face life with confidence. He no longer feels alone, knowing that an entire community stands beside him, offering understanding and support.
His experience reminds us once more how vital it is to receive support from those who truly understand what you are going through — people who can answer overwhelming questions and treat you with empathy and respect.
Here, at the Hope Centre Chișinău, Mr Ivan and other beneficiaries of the national network of Hospices of Hope Moldova receive free medical, social, and psychological support, thanks to the generosity of people like you.
