Diagnosed with intestinal cancer, gout, and kidney problems, his life became even more complicated following aggressive antibiotic treatment that affected his hearing.
Despite these hardships, his journey took a different turn after a conversation with the village nurse, who told him about the free palliative care services offered by Hospices of Hope Moldova, through the partner organization in Orhei, AO Aripile Speranței.

With a 25-year career in the medical field, Mr Valeriu understands better than anyone how valuable the care and support provided by the doctors and nurses of Hospices of Hope truly are. Each visit from the team is welcomed with joy, and he feels deeply grateful for every moment spent with these dedicated professionals. Through Hospices of Hope, Mr Valeriu receives both medical and psychological support, helping him face life’s trials more easily.

Even in the face of physical limitations imposed by illness, Mr Valeriu finds comfort in his passions — especially reading. He has read every book in his home library and is always delighted when the team brings him a new one. His thirst for knowledge remains strong, and he eagerly reads every newspaper he receives.

Every day, his wife stands by his side — a pillar of support and an endless source of love and encouragement. Together, they face the unknown with courage and dignity, while the presence of the Hospices of Hope Moldova team brings comfort and reassurance to their challenging journey.
